Former Canadian Football League Player Killed

Former Winnipeg Blue Bombers defensive back Gabriel Fulbright was shot and killed in Dallas early Saturday, according to media reports.

Fulbright, 27, was gunned down outside a convenience store at about 2:50 a.m. He was pronounced dead at Baylor University Medical Centre.

Fulbright, who had a nine-month-old daughter, appeared in nine games for the Bombers in 2006 and 2007, making two tackles and one special teams tackle. He also had five punt returns for 13 yards and one kick return for 21 yards.

The Bombers released him in July 2007.
