Argos look to Heisman trophy winner as next Canadian Football league QB
Eric Crouch is preparing to resume his football career, this time with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League.
The 2001 Heisman Trophy winner from Nebraska worked out for the Argonauts on Wednesday and was meeting with team officials for contract talks on Thursday.
Crouch said football has never been out of his system and probably never will be. The 2001 Heisman Trophy winner said the Argonauts plan to use him as a quarterback, the position he played at Nebraska. They are looking for a successor to Damon Allen, 42, who is going into his 22nd CFL season.
Crouch, 27, said he thinks he could be the Argonauts' future.
