Als add to Canadian Football League training camp roster
Montreal Alouettes' Vice President and General Manager Jim Popp has announced the signing of five new players, who will all be invited to training camp this spring.
Alan Weekes (6'3'', 300 lbs.) is a Canadian defensive tackle who attended training camp with the Alouettes in 2005. The 2004 OUA All-Star had a great five-year career at the University of Windsor. He is 25.
George Layne (5'11'', 250 lbs.) is a 27-year-old fullback with four years' experience in the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons (2001-2004). He fractured his jaw and did not play in 2005. He blocked for current NFL star LaDainian Tomlinson while at Texas Christian University.
Jacobi Jones (5'9'', 176 lbs.) is a defensive back from Elon University. Jones made 13 tackles and intercepted one pass with the Elon Phoenix in 2005. He made 15 tackles in 2004 and 51 tackles in 2003. He was named Elon's top special teams player in 2004. He is 21.
Clint Kent (5'10'', 190 lbs.) holds the James Madison record with 13 career interceptions. A defensive back, he made 168 tackles, adding 19 knockdowns and four fumble recoveries over four seasons with the Dukes. He is 22.
Harry Dunn (6'7'', 340 lbs.) is another James Madison product who played four seasons with the Dukes. His offensive line helped to maintain a rushing average of 235 yards per game in 2005. James Madison University won the 2004 NCAA National Championship in Division 1-AA. He is 22.
