Police say three men forced their way into a suite in the 400 block of Maryland St., physically assaulted and stabbed a 29-year-old man and threw him out the window.

The victim was badly injured and went to hospital in critical condition, but has since been upgraded to stable condition.

Russell Warren Disbrowe, 43, of Winnipeg, and Mervin Frankie Flett, 36, of Winnipeg, also face a number of charges.

All three suspects were detained at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.

Scrivener was with the CFL club from 1995-1997.
