Canadian football League teams complete trade

The Toronto Argonauts acquired receiver Patrick Johnson from the Edmonton Eskimos on Wednesday for a 2008 second-round draft pick.
The two sides reached the deal after offensive lineman Glen Carson, who Toronto obtained from Edmonton in January, didn't report to the Argos camp. Instead, the six-foot-four, 293-pound native of Melfort, Sask., decided to sit out the year so he could return to the University of Saskatchewan in the fall to complete his degree in geophysics.
But under terms of the original deal, Toronto received Edmonton's second-round draft pick in 2008 if Carson didn't report. However, the Argos retain his playing rights.
The five-foot-11, 191-pound Johnson was a 1999 draft pick of the NFL's Baltimore Ravens and also spent time with Jacksonville, Washington, and Cincinnati before joining the Eskimos last month
