Former Canadian Football League QB Joins Ti-Cats Staff

Former CFL pivot Khari Jones is returning to the league as quarterbacks coach of the Hamilton Ticats.

The team announced Tuesday that Jones, the CFL's outstanding player in 2001, will join their offensive coaching staff.

"Khari's knowledge and character will make him a tremendous addition to our coaching staff," Ticats head coach Marcel Bellefeuille said in a statement.

"With [offensive co-ordinator] Mike [Gibson], [receivers coach] Dennis [Goldman] and Khari on board, we're excited about the talented group of offensive coaches we have assembled."

Jones played eight seasons with B.C., Winnipeg, Edmonton and Hamilton, throwing for 21,383 yards and 145 touchdowns in 131 career games.

He was named an East Division all-star on two occasions, and received CFL all-star honours one time before retiring in 2006 to join the CFL on CBC's broadcast team.

The Ticats also announced that special-teams coach Dave Easley is returning for his third season with the team.
