Bombers Looking For New Canadian Football League Head Coach

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have fired head coach Doug Berry, according to a report.

A source requesting anonymity told the Canadian Press of the move, and the Bombers were expected to make it official at a news conference Wednesday afternoon.

Berry, 60, had guided the Bombers to three straight playoff appearances and signed a two-year contract extension with the club at the start of the season.

Winnipeg finished second in the weak East Division this year, but did so with an 8-10 record. The Bombers lost 29-21 in a home playoff game to the Edmonton Eskimos on Saturday.

Winnipeg came within a few points of winning the Grey Cup a year ago, falling 23-19 to the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the CFL championship game in Toronto.
