Canadian Football League Players Of The Week
Winnipeg Blue Bombers wide receiver Milt Stegall was named the CFL's offensive player of the week on Wednesday.
Stegall split two defenders and scored a 100-yard touchdown on the final play of the game to lift Winnipeg to a 25-22 victory over the Eskimos in Edmonton last Thursday. Stegall finished the game with 10 receptions for 254 yards.
B.C. Lions safety Barron Miles won the defensive award. Miles intercepted two passes which led to 10 points in B.C.'s 43-20 road win over the Calgary Stampeders last Friday. Miles also had three tackles, one forced fumble and a pass knockdown.
Riall Johnson of the Toronto Argonauts was named lineman of the week. Johnson recorded five tackles, two sacks and forced a fumble, helping the Argos defeat the Saskatchewan Roughriders 26-23 on Saturday. The victory was Toronto's first on the road this season.
Johnson's teammate, Bashir Levingston, won the special teams player award. Livingston became the first player this season to return a kick for a touchdown in the win over Saskatchewan.
Levingston ran back a first quarter punt 88 yards for the early score and finished the game with three punt returns for 99 yards.
