Southeastern Louisiana hires former Canadian football League Coach

Southeastern Louisiana University football coach Mike Lucas announced the addition of two new staff members and one internal promotion for the 2007 campaign.
The Lions added Thomas Condell, a 10-plus year coaching veteran of the Southland Conference and Canadian Football League, as offensive coordinator and Allen Rudolph, who most recently coached at Samford University and has significant experience in the state and conference, as offensive line coach.
Condell replaces Scott Highsmith, who resigned in December.
Rudolph will take the place of former assistant Tony Hatmaker, who has assumed the role of compliance director in the athletics department.
Lucas also announced that Matt Webb, who has served as the Lions’ recruiting coordinator and linebackers coach, has been elevated to defensive coordinator.
Condell comes to Southeastern from the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL, where he served as offensive coordinator for the last year. He also served two other stints in the CFL as passing game coordinator of the Ottawa Renegades (2004-05) and as the special teams coordinator for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (1997-98).
Condell served as passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach at Stephen F. Austin from 1999-2001. During his time at SFA, Condell helped the Lumberjacks to the 1999 conference title.
