BC Lions announce Wally Buono To undergo bypass surgeryVANCOUVER, B.C., NOVEMBER 24, 2004 - BC Lions President and CEO, Bob Ackles, today announced that the team's General Manager and Head Coach, Wally Buono, will undergo by-pass surgery on Monday, November 29.
"Wally knew he was facing a tough heart problem and he made the decision to wait until the season was completed," said Ackles. "He made an incredible personal sacrifice for the BC Lions. Our whole organization, players, coaches and staff are looking forward to his full recovery in the off-season. "
Wally Buono will be available to the media to speak briefly about the procedure at the Surrey Practice facility.
